Life Transitions Therapy
Who is this for?
Life transitions can be exciting, challenging, or both. Sometimes a change that seems positive on the outside can leave you feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or disconnected from yourself.
Life transitions therapy may be helpful if you are adjusting to becoming a parent, returning to work, changing careers, navigating a relationship change, becoming an empty nester, going through divorce, adjusting to a new stage of adulthood, or simply realizing that the life you have been living no longer feels like the right fit.
What might you be experiencing?
You may be:
Feeling overwhelmed by changes in your responsibilities
Unsure of who you are in a new stage of life
Struggling with changes in relationships
Questioning your career or sense of purpose
Having difficulty adjusting to motherhood or another new role
Feeling pressure to meet everyone else's expectations
Struggling with boundaries
Feeling anxious about making the "right" decision
Grieving the life, relationship, identity, or expectations you thought you would have
Feeling stuck between what others need from you and what you need for yourself
How can therapy help?
Therapy can give you space to slow down and make sense of what is changing. Together, we can explore what you want, what you need, and what may be getting in the way of creating the life you want to live.
Our work may focus on building confidence, communicating your needs, setting boundaries, navigating relationships, managing anxiety, processing grief, and developing coping strategies for the challenges that come with change.
You do not have to know exactly what needs to change before beginning therapy. Sometimes therapy is where you begin figuring that out.
What is your approach?
I use a flexible, individualized approach that considers both what you are experiencing now and the patterns that may have developed throughout your life.
Depending on your needs, therapy may incorporate ACT, CBT, DBT, person-centered therapy, psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, and trauma-informed approaches.
I believe meaningful change comes from understanding yourself more deeply while also developing practical tools that can help you navigate everyday life.
Why work with me?
I work primarily with women and understand that life transitions often overlap. Becoming a parent can affect your identity, relationships, career, mental health, and sense of self all at once. Similarly, infertility, pregnancy loss, divorce, trauma, or a career change can create ripple effects throughout many areas of your life.
My goal is to provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where you can explore those changes, understand yourself more fully, and move toward the life you want.
