Anxiety & Depression Therapy for Women
Who is this for?
You may be someone who looks like you are managing everything on the outside while feeling overwhelmed on the inside. Anxiety and depression can affect anyone, including women navigating relationships, work, motherhood, pregnancy, postpartum changes, or other major life transitions.
Therapy may be helpful if you find yourself constantly worrying, overthinking, feeling overwhelmed, having difficulty relaxing, struggling with motivation, or feeling unlike yourself. You may also be experiencing sadness, irritability, guilt, hopelessness, low self-worth, or difficulty finding enjoyment in things that once felt meaningful.
For some women, anxiety or depression becomes more noticeable during pregnancy, after having a baby, or while navigating infertility or loss. For others, these feelings may have been present for years and become harder to manage as life circumstances change.
What might you be experiencing?
Anxiety and depression can look different for everyone. You may be experiencing:
Constant worry or racing thoughts
Feeling overwhelmed by your responsibilities
Difficulty being present and enjoying the moment
Irritability, anger, or a short temper
Feeling emotionally exhausted or "stuck"
Low motivation or difficulty getting things done
Feeling disconnected from yourself or others
Guilt or feeling like you should be able to handle things better
Changes in sleep or appetite
Difficulty adjusting to motherhood or another major life change
How can therapy help?
Therapy can provide a space to slow down, understand what is contributing to your symptoms, and learn ways to respond differently when anxiety or depression takes over.
Together, we can identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop practical coping strategies, and explore the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences underneath your symptoms. Our work will focus on helping you feel more confident in managing difficult emotions and creating changes that feel meaningful and sustainable.
Anxiety and depression can become especially difficult during pregnancy and postpartum. Learn more about Pregnancy & Postpartum Therapy.
What is your approach?
My approach is flexible and tailored to you. I draw from approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), person-centered therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-informed care.
Rather than simply focusing on getting rid of symptoms, I believe it is important to understand what your symptoms may be communicating and what may be underneath them. We will work together to identify patterns, build coping skills, and develop a greater understanding and acceptance of yourself.
Why work with me?
I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to understand what you are experiencing and identify what you need.
As a therapist who specializes in working with women, including women navigating pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, infertility and loss, trauma, and life transitions, I understand that anxiety and depression do not happen in isolation. Your relationships, responsibilities, experiences, and current season of life all matter.
You do not have to wait until things feel unmanageable to ask for support.
